CertainTeed, Alcoa, Crane and Heartland are considered by many to be the top vinyl siding manufacturers in the world. The difference between these brands in terms of which is the best is more of a matter of opinion than fact.
So to keep from trying to influence one brand over another, we simply provide you with the information about each and give our recommendation of which one we believe to be the best for your situation, and let you choose the siding you want.
Comparing competitive series against each other is not necessarily accurate in terms of getting the best product for your situation and geographical location. Each major brand has a series that is made to compete with a series made by another manufacturer, but may also offer an alternative series that is not usuallly compared to a specific series of their competitor.
One example of this would be the selection of premium siding panels.
Let's say you have a home at Holdens Beach, NC and would like to have it covered with new vinyl siding. A good choice of premium siding from CertainTeed would be Monogram. A comparative panel from Heartland would be HeartTech.
Both vinyl siding products are between 0.44" and 0.46" thickness and have wind ratings of around 220+mph. Even though these are both good choices, a better choice would be a different premium panel from CertainTeed called Millennium siding.
This series uses a cable suspension system and has a wind rating over 280 mph and is the only panel in the industry that offers a "Won't Blow Off Warranty", even in category 5 hurricane force winds!
